The Union Theatre was a small neighborhood movie house that reputedly changed hands a number of times before it was sold to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas C. Berry in 1921. At that time, the Berrys changed the venue name to the Princess Theatre.

Soon the Berrys made plans to build a new Princess Theatre up the street. The original Princess Theatre likely closed when the new theatre opened in November 1923.
