The Oriental Theatre was an eastside theatre built by Walter E. Tebbetts (alternately listed in contemporary materials as William E. Tebbetts) and was opened as Tebbetts’ Oriental Theatre.
Portland’s street numbering changed in 1933.
In later years, the theatre was owned by Hamrick-Evergreen Theatres. The pipe organ was removed in 1969 and reinstalled in the Organ Grinder Pizza Parlour restaurant located on SE 82nd Street in 1973. The restaurant closed in 1996. Today, the theatre location is an empty parking lot.
