Pola Negri

Born 3 January 1897 in Lipno, Poland, Russian Empire (now Lipno, Kujawsko-Pomorskie, Poland),
as Barbara Apollonia Chalupez.
Died 1 August 1987 in San Antonio, Texas, USA, of pneumonia.

Married Count Eugene Dombski, 5 November 1919; divorced 1922.
Married Prince Serge Mdivani, 14 May 1927; divorced, 2 April 1931.

Pola Negri debuted in motion pictures in 1914. She appeared in a number of European films throughout the teens, including several films for director Ernst Lubitsch.

By the early 1920s, Negri was offered by Adolph Zukor the opportunity to appear in American films produced by Famous Players-Lasky Corporation.
