Born 19 February 1874 in Worthington, Minnesota, USA, as William Carlton Stockdale.
Died 15 March 1953 in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA, of heart failure.

Brother of actor Frank Stockdale.

Married actress Clara Beyers, 11 January 1908; divorced, 9 April 1915.

Carl Stockdale began his acting career on the stage, and appears to have made the transition to motion pictures in 1913. Over the course of his career, Stockdale appeared in more than 300 films.
