Adolphe Menjou

Born 18 February 1890 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, as Adolphe Jean Menjou.
Died 29 October 1963 in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA, of chronic hepatitis.

Brother of actor Henri Menjou.

Married Katherine Conn Tinsley, 1920; divorced, 20 October 1927.
Married actress Kathryn Carver, 16 May 1928; divorced, 24 August 1934.
Married actress Verree Teasdale, 25 August 1934; until his death, 29 October 1963; one child.

Adolphe Menjou began in the motion picture industry doing odd jobs. He was soon acting in bit parts for studios in the greater New York area. After moving to Hollywood, Menjou began starring in a number of prominent and leading roles circa 1921. Menjou became a star for Paramount Pictures Corporation throughout the 1920s.
